It all started with a simple question:

"Would you like to dance?"
Both Preston and Alyssa attended the wedding of their mutual friends Mike and Kelly Watson. Even though they had both been friends of the Watsons for years, they had never met. That all changed when Preston and Alyssa shared a dance to The Black Eye Peas, "I Got A Feeling."

The spark was instant, and at the end of the evening, Alyssa asked Preston what his plans were for the following night. When Preston replied that he was free, Alyssa told him: "I think you should take me out on a date." After that, Preston was hooked.

The next day, Alyssa anxiously awaited her first date with Preston. She was staying with her grandparents at Emerald Bay that weekend and somehow, various family members and friends "happened" to stop by that afternoon. When Preston arrived to pick up Alyssa for their date, he was greeted by grandparents, parents, aunts, cousins, and family friends...all eager to get a glimpse of the "handsome, tall, blonde, smart, athletic" guy who swept Alyssa off her feet (literally) the night before. Alyssa could not get Preston out the door quick enough, before grandpa started talking to Preston about the Stanford Indians and Aunt Amy started inquiring about rapid prototyping.

After 2 years of long distance dating between the San Francisco Bay Area and Atlanta, they both relocated to Los Angeles and are now happily settled in Pasadena.

In September of last year, Preston proposed to Alyssa in front of the Sydney Opera house. She said yes, and they both cannot believe how lucky they are to have found each other. Now, they hope you will join them as they return to the location of their first date, Emerald Bay, to celebrate their marriage.

We can't wait to see you in October to celebrate!
